We’re Family-Owned & Independent
We’re one of the few remaining historic pubs in Brisbane still family-owned and operated.
The Normanby Hotel started out as family-owned in 1890 when it was built for publican Elizabeth Sophia Burton. In 2022 Sam & Nick Ingham-Myers purchased The Normanby, to carry on the family-owned tradition of serving cold beers and hearty pub meals to the locals of Brisbane. Today this heritage-listed hotel stands proud, as it did on it’s first day, on the northern ridge overlooking Petrie Terrace.
Refurbished on the inside for modern times, the intricate and ornate details of the original Queen Anne style have been lovingly maintained. This is what defines The Normanby Hotel, where we give “Cheers to the past and the present!”

Family-owned means we serve the community
We’re brothers so family means a lot to us. Being a part of the community is also important. When we can, we support local efforts, especially those that bring people together for a common cause. We’re a pub after all, focused on creating a welcoming environment for people to hang out, relax and have fun together.
Some of the organisations we’ve supported are Walk for a Bloke (supporting mental health), Karma Keg (supporting the Braille House) and local sports clubs. Come visit us when these events are on and help us help others.
Thanks for your patronage. As a family-owned business we appreciate the support you give us. We hope to return the favour by providing you with a fun and relaxing time at our pub, with your own family and friends.
Cheers, Nick & Sam Ingham-Myers
